SPECIFICATION
ARTICLE 1: The symposium will be organized as an international event of art in 2015.
ARTICLE 2: The aim of the symposium is to make a contribution in forming the city’s open air sculpture museum and enriching the cultural identity by obtaining contemporary work of art of a certain quality to Nilüfer, Bursa.
It is aimed to promote the country and the city internationally furthermore to support
the art and artists.
ARTICLE 3: The theme of the symposium is “Conscience”.
ARTICLE 4: International Kuzgun Acar Sculpture Symposium will be held in Bursa, Nilüfer area between 05-25 August 2015.
ARTICLE 5: Stone, metal and concrete are chosen as the materials. Maximum 2-3 m3 material will be provided to those who will work with stone and concrete.
ARTICLE 6: 10 artists will take part in the symposium. The participations of the artists those who have informed that they will not come although they have qualified to participate and those who did not come at the first 3 days of the symposium without reporting any excuse will be cancelled.
ARTICLE 7: The artists those who will be invited will be chosen by the symposium committee predicating on the studies which are in their application files.
Application to the symposium could be done with maximum 3 projects.
ARTICLE 8: Transportation, accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner will be afforded by Bursa Nilüfer Municipality.
ARTICLE 9: Transportation includes round trip economic class flight ticket and airport transport. Each artist will provide their flight ticket. The ticket fees will be paid during the symposium.
ARTICLE 10: Bursa Nilüfer Municipality will provide raw material for the specified project of each artist. Also, if stated in the application form, the base of the work, the mounting of the base and the materials for this will be covered by Nilüfer Municipality.
ARTICLE 11: The documents those must be in the application file: 1- Application form
/ 2- Curriculum Vitae (CV) / 3- The photograph of the artist (portrait) / 4- Home address and e-mail (Must be written in the declared fields in the application form) /5- Drawings or model photographs which show the work of art that artist will perform in the symposium from different angles. / 6- Drawings of the montage schema and
extra materials and their specialties if exist. / 7-Statement text about the work of art offered (Must be written in the declared fields in the application form) / 8- Visual documents in the JPEG format of the 5 work of arts of the artist which were performed
formerly.
ARTICLE 12: Nilüfer Municipality provides 220 volts of electricity, crane, air compressor and their systems of lengthening to the artists for using in the symposium area. Nilüfer Municipality organizes working and security requirements in the symposium area.
ARTICLE 13: Artists provide electrical tools and small hand tools and their consumables by themselves.
ARTICLE 14: Bursa Nilüfer Municipality will pay €3300 (including 0.9,48% stamp duty and 10% income tax deductions) to each artist as equipment expenses and copyright fee to whom finished his work and delivered in time as declared in the specifications. %20 part of the payment (Turkish Lira equivalent to) will be done in the week following the symposium start, remaining %80 (Turkish Lira equivalent to) will be done after the delivery of the work.
ARTICLE 15: Artists leave the work of arts those they performed to Nilüfer Municipality. The work of arts will be located the places where Nilüfer Municipality suggested and the artists approved. The montage of the works will be done in last two days of the symposium with the supervision of the artists.
ARTICLE 16: An application certificate which is certified by Nilüfer Municipality will be given to every artist at the end of the symposium. Nilüfer Municipality prepares the catalogue of the symposium, publishes and distributes it. Also, Nilüfer Municipality commits to post specific number of catalogues (10 pieces, etc.) to each artist to the address that was written by the artist at the application form.
ARTICLE 17: Nilüfer Municipality will be responsible for protecting the works. Nilüfer Municipality will not sell the works but will have the rights for exhibiting in the museum, exhibiting in another place temporarily, cataloguing, sliding, photographing and publishing and promoting these on media. Artist allows his working process and work of art to be viewed.
ARTICLE 18: Artists are responsible for being in the symposium area at working times and obeying the working calendar. The symposium officials must be notified about the leaving necessity and excuse on required occasions. Exceptional cases those could happen will be threatened by the symposium committee.
ARTICLE 19: Working hours and Sunday programs during the symposium will be determined according to current contexts.
