The participation of 8 Jordanian artists, in addition to many more from around the globe in the anticipated “Camel Festival”.
The Jordanian artists presented superb artwork, showing diversity in technique and color. The artwork expressed the relationship between man and camel amongst the Arabian Culture, and the evolving journey of the two through time.
The artists: Rawan Saadeh, Ahmad Shawish, Mohammed Sobuh, Bassam Selawy, Maysoon Masalha, Alaa Al Rayan, Noor Alazzam, Anas Abu Krayem, expressed through contemporary and abstract art the value of communication and interaction between different cultures under the parasol of “Fine Arts”.
Participats from around the globe are: from Tunisia: Ryadh Ben Amor, from the UAE: Wafaa Khazendar, Sultan Kherani, and Maitha Al Atar. From Iraq: Mohammed Quraish, Mohammed Saadoun, from Saudi Arabia: Nora Al Qahtani, from India: Shihab Vaippipadah, Mahmoud Ahmad, Radhy Shiam, Jawraf Mangala, Babu Hussien. Also from Istonia: Toomas Altnorm, from Macedonia: Pandora Sazdovska, Sasha Sazdovski, from Serbia: Simo Nofakovish, and Jennifer Bekering from Canada.
Abu Dhabi’s Art Hub Founder “Ahmad Al Yafiei” stated that the artists stay should be in the secular and beautiful desert of Liwa, so that they will go on a journey of discovery and inspiration amongst various kinds of camels and nature. On the other hand, artists have collected certain details and information about the camels from their owners that helped in creating a great sense of creativity to inspire distinguished artwork, such as paintings and sculptures.
The Jordanian artists have contributed in presenting great talent through state-of-the-art paintings, emerging from their hometown Jordan. Certainly, the artists have resided and worked with many talents regionally and globaly, that helped in elevating their level of expertise and artwork.
The “Camel Festival” activities have launched from the 20th of December and lasted for 26 days of hard work and fun experiences. The Art Hub activities in Abu dhabi included direct interaction with contemporary artists through live drawing and painting in the traditional “DHafra Festival” Souq. The artists have also attended the “Camel Beauty Contest” and the “Camel Race” arena, where they learned more about camels from their owners and took professional pictures of their experiences.
The artists also joined in camping in the desert amongst the locals, or at the tourists’ camp, where they were hosted the Emirati traditional way. Although the rest of their stay was at the Art Hub compound in Liwa in the middle of a secular, inspiring desert, the home of the Arabian camel.
Bassam Selawi, is the artist responsible in organizing the Art Hub activities, along with the artist Maysoon Masalha from Jordan.
Charity Bandason, one of the artists of Art Hub, also emphasized on the importance of this art event to the Arabian culture, especially the Emirati culture. In addition to the significance of the diverse culture interaction under the parasol of Fine Arts.
