More Than $82 Million Awarded for Arts Projects Nationwide
Includes $15,000 awarded to the Kansas City Artists Coalition
Kansas City, Missouri—National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu has approved more than $82 million to fund local arts projects and partnerships in the NEA’s second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2016. Included in this announcement is an Art Works award of $15,000 to the Kansas City Artists Coalition for exhibition, video project and book celebrating the organization’s 40 year history. The Art Works category supports the creation of work and presentation of both new and existing work, lifelong learning in the arts, and public engagement with the arts through 13 arts disciplines or fields.
“The arts are all around us, enhancing our lives in ways both subtle and obvious, expected and unexpected,” said NEA Chairman Jane Chu. “Supporting projects like the one from the Kansas City Artists Coalition offers more opportunities to engage in the arts every day.”

KCAC’s NEA grant will be used to support an exhibition, oral history project, and publica tion documenting the Kansas City Artists Coalition’s 40th Anniversary. KCAC was incorporated in 2016, the milestone will tie together several events that will help to increase the visibility of our mission and highlight our history.

KCAC VOICES Video narratives of KCAC’s history from now aging founding artists will be shot and then loaded onto KCAC’s website and YouTube channel.
KCAC//40 YEARS A full-color book documenting the over 500 exhibitions, events, and publications that have included more than 4,000 artists since KCAC’s founding.
