Witness at a Crossroads chronicles French photographer Marc Riboud’s journeys across Asia during the mid-1950s and 60s, a period of great cultural and political transition in the region. The All-Knowing Buddha: A Secret Guide focuses on an exceptional set of paintings in the intimate format of album leaves from 18th-century China that illustrate the meditation practice of Sarvavid Vairochana, a primordial Buddha central to the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. The album is one of only two of its kind in existence to depict visually a secret esoteric practice. The presentation at the Rubin is the first time that these important paintings are exhibited in the United States.

Daire Galeri, Gözde Başkent’i ikinci kişisel sergisi ile ağırlıyorDaire Galeri, 13 Aralık – 14 Şubat 2014 tarihleri arasında Gözde Başkent’in ikinci kişisel sergisi “Soluk Mavi Nokta”ya ev sahipliği yapacak. 1982 yılında Ankara’da doğan Gözde Başkent, Mimar Sinan Güzel Sanatlar Üniversitesi Resim Bölümü’nde lisans ve yüksek lisans eğitimini tamamlamıştır. Sanatçı yaşamını ve çalışmalarını Büyükada’da sürdürmektedir.

Sanatçının çalışmaları, insanın doğa üzerindeki ayrıcalıklı konumu ve doğa ile arasındaki mesafe üzerine eleştirel düşüncelerden oluşuyor. Genellikle ahşap üzerine ağırlıklı olarak kadın figürlerini illüstrativ yaklaşım ile resmettiği eserlerinde sanatçı doğa ile insanın bütünleştiği ve çelişkisiz bir ilişki sürdüğü bir dünyanın hayalini ortaya koyuyor.
