INTERNATIONAL MAIL ART – EGYPT is one of the international activities for Atelier of Alexandria a group of artists and writers in a collaborating with EAN Group for international Artistic Cooperation which propose this kind of international mail art exhibition in Alexandria Egypt .
What is Mail Art ?
Mail art is a populist artistic movement centered around sending small scale works through the postal service. Media commonly used in mail art include postcards, paper, a collage of found or recycled images and objects, rubber stamps , and paint, but can also include music, sound art, poetry, or anything that can be put in an envelope and sent via post , a mail art show has no jury, no entry fee, there is no censorship, and all works are exhibited . The original contributions are not to be returned and remain the property of the organizers, Mail art has been exhibited in alternative spaces such as private apartments, municipal buildings, and shop windows, as well as in galleries and museums worldwide. Mail art shows, periodicals, and projects represent the “public” side of postal networking, a practice that has at its core the direct and private interaction between the individual participants. Mail artists value the process of exchanging ideas and the sense of belonging to a global community that is able to maintain a peaceful collaboration beyond differences of language, religion and ideology; this is one aspect that differentiates the mail art network from the world of commercial picture postcards and of simply “mailed art.”
So let us to participating now in Mail Art – Egypt.
This is an open call to visual artists in all over the world to participate in the exhibition which will take place in Atelier of Alexandria on Thursday, 16th October 2014 , under the Theme: “Promoting Culture” which is really important now for our Egyptian Society during this critical political situations in all Arab spring countries . To promoting the culture around us and with all countries in whole world.
How to apply:
– Deadline : 10th July 2014 .
– Fee: NO PARTICIPATION FEE.
– Artists Participations fields : opened in all different visual fields .
Size Maximum :
– For paper works : A4 ( 29cm X 21cm).
– For 3D Works : 25cm x 25cm x 25cm .
– For media art works : 3minutes only ( audio – video) Art works .
Artists can participate in only one section with 3 works maximum, unframed .
The works will not be sent back to the participants after the closing of the exhibition.
Sending Works :
Artists should send their works with application form .. well-packed and write NO COMMERCIAL VALUE on the envelope to :

هي واحدة من الأنشطة الدولية لأتيلية الإسكندرية جماعة الفنانين والكتاب في أطار التعاون مع جماعة EAN للتعاون الفني الدولي .
ما هو فن البريد ؟
الفن البريد هو أتجاة من اتجاهات الفنون المعاصرة تتمحور حول إرسال أعمال فنية صغيرة .. تعمل من خلال الخدمات البريدية . وتشمل البطاقات البريدية ،الأوراق المجمعة من الصور ( الكولاج ) أو إعادة تدويرها ، الطوابع المطاطية ، و التصوير و الرسم و الطبعة الفنية ، ولكن يمكن أيضا أضافة الموسيقى وفن الصوت، الشعر، أو أي شيء يمكن أن توضع في مغلف وإرسالها عبر البريد ، معارض فنون البريد لاتحتوى على لجان فرز ، ولاتشمل رسوم أشتراك بالمعرض ، و جميع الأعمال يتم عرضها . لا يتم فيها رد الأعمال الفنية لأصحابها وتبقى ملكا للمنظمين، مع طباعة كتالوج
ويمكن عروض جميع معرض فن البريد فى الاماكن البديلة عن قاعات العروض مثل الشقق الخاصة ، المبانى ، واجهات المتاجر الكبيرة ، صالات العرض و المتاحف فى جميع أنحاء العالم ،
يهتم فن البريد بعملية تبادل الأفكار و الشعور بالانتماء إلى المجتمع العالمي بحيث يكون قادرا على الحفاظ على التعاون السلمي وراء الخلافات فى اللغة والدين و الأيديولوجيات ، وهذا هو الجانب الوحيد الذى يميز فن البريد فى العالم .
لذا نشارك في المعرض الدولى لفن البريد الآن بمصر .
وهذا هى دعوة مفتوحة لجميع الفنانين البصريين في جميع أنحاء العالم للمشاركة في المعرض الذي سيقام في أتيليه الإسكندرية يوم الخميس 16 أكتوبر 2014 ، تحت شعار : ” تعزيز ثقافة ” وهو أمر مهم حقا الآن لدى مجتمعنا المصرى خاصة خلال هذه الحالة السياسية الحرجة التى تمر بها جميع بلدان الربيع العربى . وذلك لتعزيز الثقافة حولنا خاصة مع جميع البلدان في العالم كله .
شروط المشاركة
– الموعد النهائي لأرسال الأعمال 10 يوليو 2014
– الرسوم المشاركة : لا يوجد رسوم مشاركة .
– مجالات المشاركة : جميع مجالات الفنون البصرية .
الحد الأقصى لحجم :
– الأعمال المنفذة على ورق أو توال لاتزيد عن حجم الورقة A4 ( 29cm x 21 cm ) . بحد أقصى 3 أعمال لكل فنان مشارك
– الأعمال ثلاثية الأبعاد 25 سم × 25 سم × 25 سم .
– فنون الوسائط المتعددة : 3minutes فقط ( الصوت – الفيديو ) .
– يمكن أن الفنانين يشاركون فى واحد فقط من احد مجالات الفنون المختلفة
– الأعمال لاترد لأصحابها فى نهاية المعرض
كيفية الأرسال :
على كل فنان مشارك فى المعرض الدولى لفن البريد أن يرسل أعماله مع استمارة المشاركة المرفقة ..
– ملحوظة هامة لن يتم أستلام طرود الأعمال الفنية المطلوب لها دفع مصاريف اضافية عند الأستلام
حيث ان شبكة عين و أتيلية الأسكندرية غير مسؤلين عن دفع اى مصارف أضافية لأى شحنة بريدية خاصة بالمعرض
