Serkan Demir’in “tezahür/emergence” isimli solo sergisi 13 Mart’ta CerModern bünyesinde güncel sanat alanı olarak faaliyet gösteren HUB Sanat Mekân’da izleyici ile buluşuyor. Ağırlıklı olarak heykel formunda işlerin olduğu sergi, 12 Nisan 2014 tarihine kadar görülebilecek.
Son yıllarda çalışmalarını çoğunlukla inanç eksenine odaklayan sanatçı, “tezahür” sergisinde, gerçeküstü ortaya çıkış durumunu sorgular. Beklenmeyen zamanda ve beklenmedik biçimlerde görünürlük kazanan bu durumu ‘belirme’ olarak tanımlar ve yaşanan değişimi, bozulmayı, sürecinin konusuna dönüştürür.
Sanatçı, içinde bulunduğu coğrafyanın siyasi ve politik gerçekliklerinden hareketle, kültürel bir izlenim haritası oluşturmaya çalışmaktadır. Doğu mitosu ve anlatısı ile ilişkilendirmeye çalıştığı bu haritada, coğrafik stratejiler, müdahale mekanizmaları ve küresel sermayenin yarattığı krize ilişkin fotoğraf, ironik bir dille görünürlük kazanırken “tezahür” kavramının gerekçeleri de tartışmaya açılmaktadır.
Yine üzerinde durduğu konuların başında gelen inanç kavramının sınır çizgileri ve bunların gündelik hayattaki dönüşümleri ise son yıllardaki üretimlerinin ana motifini oluşturmaktadır.
Enstalasyonlar, hareketli kurgular, küçük boyutlu heykellerden oluşan “tezahür” adlı sergisinde sanatçı, nesneleri bazen birbirine ekler, çarpıştırır, bazen de tekrar toparlayarak bir sanat oyunu oynar. Birer metin niteliğinde ortaya koyduğu yapıtlarındaki örgü ve kurguyu, ruhani olanın yerine getirilme duygusuyla gerçekleştirir. Kendi tabiri ile ‘görsel soruşturma’ olarak adlandırdığı bu yapı sökümde, geleneksel üretim biçimlerinin sınırlarını belirgin şekilde zorlar ve üretim seyrinin kanıtlarını da izleyiciye sunmak ister.
Eserleri çeşitli müze ve koleksiyonlarda yer alan Serkan Demir, aynı zamanda Yaygara Güncel Sanat İnisiyatifi’nin kurucuları arasında yer almaktadır.

Serkan Demir’s solo exhibition called as “egermence” is meeting with audiences on 13th of March in HUB Art Residence which is currently acting as art area in the body of CerModern. The exhibition which has mainly works in sculpture forms will be able to be visited until 12th of April, 2014.
The artist who has been focusing his works mostly on belief centerline in last years is also questioning the situation of surrealistic emergence in his “emergence” exhibition. This situation which becomes visible in unexpected time and in unexpected forms is identified as “definition” and transforms the experienced change, deterioration to subject of the process.
The artist tries to generate a cultural impression map with reference to diplomatic and political reality of the geography he is in. In this map he tries to associate with east mito and narration, rationals of “emergence” notion is come up for discussion while the image related to geographic strategies, intervention mechanisms and crisis created by global capital is becoming visible with an ironical language.
Again boundary lines of belief notion which is the leading subject he insists on and their transformations in daily life constitute the main motive of his production in last years.
In this exhibition called as “egermence” which consist of installation, dynamic fictions, small sized sculptures, the artist plays an art game by piecing objects together sometimes and sometimes by putting together. He performs the fiction and pattern in his works he presents with text characteristics with a sense of performing the one which is spiritual. In this structure removal he calls as “visual investigation” with his own interpretation, he obviously pushes the limits of tradational production forms and also wants to present to audiences the evidence of production course.
Serkan Demir whose works have taken part in various museums and collections, is among founders of Yaygara Contemporary Art Initiative.
