“Cam Kafes Glass Cage”

ARTİSAN Sanat Galerisi, sanatçı Seyit Mehmet BUÇUKOĞLU’nun “Cam Kafes” adlı sergisine 09-31 Ocak 2014 tarihleri arasında ev sahipliği yapıyor.
Sanatçı, bireyin doğup büyüdüğü yerden yetiştiği çevreye kadar birçok sosyo-kültürel yapı ile bu birlikteliğin şekillendirdiği toplumsal ve kültürel yansımaları ‘pencere’ imgesiyle ele alıyor. Bu bağlamda pencereler, bulundukları coğrafyanın mimari kültürüne ve karakteristiğine sahip önemli detaylar olarak şekilleniyor.
Günümüz mimarisinde ise ‘pencere’ imgesinin estetik ve kültürel değerlerden yoksun ele alınışı ve “aynılaşma” kavramıyla yok olmaya yüz tutmuş bir detaya dönüşmesi, sanatçının resimlerinin ana temasını oluşturuyor.
Resimlerinde kullandığı farklı kültürlere ait ‘pencere’ imgeleri yüzeyde kirlenmiş, çürümüş ve hatta geri plana atılmış bir şekilde yok olanı işaret ediyor. Üst katmanda ise estetikten uzak bir şablon kullanıma dönüşen gökdelen camlarının, kültürel değerleri yok eden ve adeta bir “cam kafes” gibi kendinden öncekini hapseden bir anlayışla kullanılmasına göndermede bulunuyor.
Seyit Mehmet BUÇUKOĞLU’nun yok ederken var olmayı, var olurken de yok etmeyi sorgulayan “Cam Kafes” adlı sergisi 31 Ocak 2014 tarihine kadar ARTİSAN Sanat Galerisi’nde görülebilir.
ARTİSAN Art Gallery is hosting artist Seyit Mehmet Bucukoglu’s display titled “Glass Cage” between 09-31 January.
The artist handles multiple socio-cultural structures from the environment that the individual has been born and grew up to the environment that the individual has been raised and approaches the social and cultural reflections shaped by this synergy with a ‘window’ image. In this context the windows shape so many important details that possess the architectural culture and characteristics of the geography that they are in.
The fact that the window image is represented with lack of aesthetic and cultural values as well as becoming only identical details that are about the diminish in contemporary architecture becomes the leitmotiv of the art work of the artist.
The window images which belong to different cultures that he uses in his art work indicates superficially contaminated, rotten and even put in secondary importance and in some way diminished. In the superstructure, he criticizes the usage of unaesthetic pattern skyscraper windows which destroys the cultural values and just like a glass cage imprisons the preceding ones.
