Sculptures & Drawings. 2000-2014’ at the S.M.A.K. is the first mid-career presentation of the oeuvre of Berlinde De Bruyckere (1964, Ghent). This exhibition shows a hundred-odd works which have so far rarely if ever been seen in Belgium, though in the last decade the artist has exhibited in many of the most important international museums and institutions.
The exhibition does not give us a chronological survey, but is conceived as a promenade taking in a select choice of drawings, sculptures

Jean Schwind (1935-1985) was the most notorious and enigmatic figure in Belgian art in the 1970s. In 2012 the S.M.A.K. received a generous bequest from the estate of the Brussels collector Henri Chotteau (1947-2012). It consisted almost entirely of important works by the French artist François Morellet (1926, Cholet). Chotteau had an extraordinary passion for Morellet’s oeuvre. He had already donated works by this artist to the S.M.A.K. in 2004 and in the context of the solo exhibition in 2007. uyuyan güzel 24.10.2014 – 29.11.2014 İstanbul Modern’in 2011 yılında kadın sanatçılarla gerçekleştirdiği “Hayal ve Hakikat” sergisinin en dikkat çeken isimlerden biri olan Nevhiz Tanyeli, aradan geçen üç yılın ardından Galeri Nev tarafından ağırlanıyor. Nev, 2014-2015 sergi sezonuna Mehmet Güleryüz, Neş’e Erdok ve Nur Koçak ile sınıf arkadaşlığı etmiş olan Tanyeli’nin, uzun yıllardır Fransa’da koruduğu resimlerini ilk kez günyüzüne çıkararak başlıyor. Nevhiz Tanyeli’nin güven vermek ile tedirgin etmek, korumak ile tehdit etmek arasındaki sonsuz boyutta seyir eden eserlerinde, insan bedeni eleştirel bir kimliğe bürünüyor. Belli belirsiz mekanlar içinde ince ince akan, uzayan, kimi zaman kırılan çizgiler ile renklerin oluşturduğu dünya, hem hayalin, hem bilincin derinliklerinden çıkarak kuruluyor. Nevhiz Tanyeli, 1965 yılında İstanbul Devlet Güzel Sanatlar Akademisi’nde Neşet Günal, Cemal Tollu, Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu atölyelerinde öğrenim gördü. 1971-1975 yılları arasında Paris, Ecole Nationale Supéieure des Beaux-Arts’da resim, litografi ve vitray çalıştı. 1976’da Türkiye’ye döndü. 1978-1985 yılları arasında Marmara Üniversitesi’nde, 1996-1997’de Mimar Sinan Üniversitesi’nde görev aldı. 1999 yılında Mersin Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi’nde dekanlık yaptı. 2002 yılında Ankara Galeri Nev’de açılan “Pankart 78: 80’ler Eşiğinde Sanatta Siyaset” adlı karma sergide yer aldı. 2003 yılında Milli Reasürans Sanat Galerisi’nde açılan retrospektif sergi ile 2003 Sedat Simavi Görsel Sanatlar Ödülü’nü kazandı. Eserleri İstanbul Modern’in koleksiyonuna dahil ettiği önemli eserlerle beşinci kuruluş yılını kutladığı “Yeni Yapıtlar, Yeni Ufuklar” ile kadın sanatçılara ayırdığı “Hayal ve Hakikat”te sergilendi. Bu yıl, Uluslararası Sanat Fuarı ARTİST’in onur sanatçısı seçildi ve Aspat Uluslararası Açık Hava Resim Sempozyumu’nun özel davetlileri arasında yer aldı. Nevhiz Tanyeli’nin resim macerasına, başından bu yana tanıklık etmemizi sağlayacak biçimde düzenlenen ve sanatçının öğrencilik yıllarından bugüne (1964-2004), tuallerine, kağıt eserlerine hatta kimi zaman eskizlerine yer veren sergi, Kasım ayının sonuna dek izlenebilecek
