Maja Weyerman ‘Segues’

Berlin’de yaşayan İsviçreli sanatçı Maja Weyermann’ın İstanbul’daki ilk kişisel sergisi SANATORIUM’da seyirciyle buluşuyor. Sanatçı bu sergide “Real-time nomads“ ve “About Paradise“ adını verdiği video işlerini ve bu videolardan yakalanmış natürmortları “The Miller Houe and a Slice of Cake – or-  Life Shortly Before Disaster“ serisiyle birlikte sunuyor.

Sanatçının üç ayrı bölümde üzerinde çalıştığı konular aynı odak noktasında birleşiyor:

Sculptures & Drawings. 2000-2014’ at the S.M.A.K. is the first mid-career presentation of the oeuvre of Berlinde De Bruyckere (1964, Ghent). This exhibition shows a hundred-odd works which have so far rarely if ever been seen in Belgium, though in the last decade the artist has exhibited in many of the most important international museums and institutions.

The exhibition does not give us a chronological survey, but is conceived as a promenade taking in a select choice of drawings, sculptures

Jean Schwind (1935-1985) was the most notorious and enigmatic figure in Belgian art in the 1970s. After studying French literature and working as a research assistant at Ghent University, at the end of the 1960s he found his way into the art scene.
