“I was chatting to a curator who recently moved to Margate in
Kent where the genesis of the idea for this series of paintings
began. She mentioned how that area of Kent, including Margate,
Broadstairs, and Ramsgate, used to be detached from the
mainland; it was only in the 1600s that the river that separated
the Isle of Thanet with the UK silted up and joined the two
together. People who live in that part of the United Kingdom still
refer to that area as ‘the

This exhibition is the first by the artist in Scandinavia and showcases his works from the early 2000s to the present, centered around the theme of nature’s marvels.
Featuring ninety four works, many of which are imbued with colors reminiscent of the miraculous emergence of spring blooms, the artist shares, “I hold a deep fascination for botany, and in a land where flowers bloom amidst snow, I’ve curated this exhibition by selecting a significant array of works

Perrotin is pleased to participate in the latest iteration of Art Basel with a solo presentation by Jean-Michel Othoniel in the Kabinett sector. Concurrently, the artist is holding his first solo exhibition in Scandinavia at the Sara Hildén Art Museum, Finland.
The latest addition to the roster, Ali Banisadr, will present a large-scale painting at the booth.
Currently on show at the Venice Biennale and ahead of his solo exhibition at the KØS Museum

For her first solo exhibition at Perrotin Shanghai, and in China,
Danielle Orchard revisits the history of still life to reframe female
corporeal representation. Her arresting and often humorous
images combine the visual language of modern art with everyday
realities of contemporary womanhood. While rendered with the
saturated palette of Impressionism and sharp contours of Cubism,
in Orchard’s paintings, subjects are freed from the rigidity of
painterly tradition.
