She has worked in design, graphics and art, exploring a variety of techniques and materials and taking part in exhibitions in Italy and elsewhere. Specialized in art therapy, she has held workshops for a number of years on the therapeutic potential of the creative process. Her long experience in the artistic field merges with her passion for literature to produce narratives where art intertwines closely with the plot, while descriptions of paintings become tools to explore characters, relationships and moods. Umut Devrim Can, 1973 yılında Aksaray’ da doğdu. 1995 yılında Hacettepe Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi Heykel Bölümünden mezun oldu. Bu güne değin iki kişisel sergi açan sanatçı bir çok karma sergi ve sanat fuarına katıldı. Ayrıca yurdun değişik yerlerinde yapımı gerçekleştirilen çok sayıda anıt sanatçının imzasını taşıyor.

2005 yılında Mimar Sinan Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi Resim bölümünden mezun olan sanatçı, Almanya’da Bauhaus ekolünde üstün yetenekli öğrencilere verilen ünvana hak kazanarak Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle’de  resim ve tekstil üzerine doktorasını tamamladı.
