Lives and works in Brooklyn, NY
Toscani is a contemporary, figurative painter. His compositions reference work by master painters, Picasso, Léger, Matisse, and Botero, while his use of vibrant blues, crisp greens, and contemporary settings bring each painting into the present. Toscani’s work provides an intimate look at mortality, spirituality and poetically expresses scenes of everyday life. His figures draw us in to contemplate a scene whose narrative is at once familiar but also eludes
