New York City, NY—Louis K. Meisel Gallery, inconjunction with Bernarducci Meisel Gallery, is pleased to present a mid-career survey for newly represented painter Yigal Ozeri. From May 7th, 2015 to July 17th, 2015, Ozeri will exhibit newand previously unseen works from a variety of series including Territory, Aquabella, and Bear Mountain as well as portraits commissioned by prominent collectors.
At first glance, Ozeri’s works appear to be photographs, and only upon careful examination does one begin to see evidence of the brush strokes. Working in oil, he has taken Photorealistic figurative painting to anew level of unsurpassed sophistication. Aside from his mastery of technique, Ozeri’s work rejects the cool and unemotional in favorof the Romantic qualities of Pre-Raphaelite styles. Blending reality and fantasy, his painting sex plore the relationship between women and nature in a manner that is sometimes disconcerting, but always beautiful.
